HAF Programme

Holiday Activities and Food Programme:

Research has shown that the school holidays can be pressure points for some families. For some children this can lead to a holiday experience gap, with children from low- income households being:

-less likely to access organised out-of-school activities.

-more likely to experience ‘unhealthy holidays’ in terms of nutritional and physical health.

-more likely to experience social isolation.

Funded by the DfE, we are aiming to tackle these issues and have actively got involved in delivering The HAF Programme. This is a programme to support children and young people aged 4-16 years (reception to year 11) who are in receipt of pupil premium or free school meals (benefit related), to access enriching activities and a hot tasty meal and heathy snacks daily and is FREE admission.

The programme is on offer for up to 4 hours per day, 4 days per week, for a maximum of one week at Easter and Christmas and 4 weeks during the Summer.

Our HAF Programmes host a range of games and activities including the following;

  • Fun Fitness with Coach
  • Tag Games
  • Circle Games
  • Parachute Games
  • Arts and Crafts
  • Invasion Games
  • Archery
  • Dance
  • Nutritional Education
